It takes place in the Victorian Age in England. A girl named Gemma
just recently lost her mother. She was mysteriously killed in India,
their home town. Now Gemma must now go to Spence Academy for ladies,
and learn how a proper english lady must act. She discovers new things
about herself and discovers a realm where all her wildest dreams can
come true. Gemma also gets an insite to how her mother died. This is a
very exciting book that will keep you wanting more, you wont want to
set it down.

This book is in my opinion a great read...a little dark but well put
together. This boy Nick and his brother Alan live together with their
insane mother. They are being chased by demon controlling magicians.
They want the one thing that can keep nick and Alan's mother
alive...But as the brothers keep running away the past starts to bleed
into the presant. Old wounds are ripped open and nick starts doubting
who he really is.

In Calderon Valley, everyone is born with a powerful spirit called a
fury. There are furies of earth, wood, wind, fire, water, and metal.
Tavi an orphan has been cared for his whole life by his uncle Bernard.
There is one thing that is different about Tavi-he has no furies.While
tracking some lost sheep, Tavi and his uncle stumble upon all of their
dead sheep. They have all been slaughtered by a warbird called a
herdbane from the plains to the south. Tavi and his uncle both become
vary scared because herdbanes do not leave the plains-unless they are
commanded by there masters called the Marat. Afraid that they have
seen something they should not have they try to run and they spark an

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

This is a great book. It it the first in a series of 5 books. The
thing I likve most about the book is that it is just like the Harry
Potter series, but with greek mythology. Percy is a twelve year old
boy who is taken from his home in New York City to go to a "Half Blood
Camp." He is the son of Poseidon. He has one main problem: the Gods
think he stole Zeus's lightning bolt, which he denies, and his mother
was killed by the Minotaur. So, he embarks on a journey to find the
lightning bolt and get to and from the Underworld with his mother.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

I enjoyed this coming-of-age book. Lily is 14 years old and has been raised my her father, T Ray and Rosealeen their housekeeper. I like how the story is set during the civil rights movement. I'm even too young to know how things used to be and I think it's important to learn about our history so that things aren't repeated. I like the characters and the relationships built between characters. I couldn't put it down.
